Exercise
I have always loved exercise. It makes me feel good, it is fun, and it challenges me.
Exercise at the minimum can occur in the gym. Gym work outs can include aerobic machines, classes, and weights. The gym can provide an extremely balanced work out that can be measured and increased with great control.
I have always loved running. I started in high school with recreational running and continued through college. When I joined the work force, I drove down the street after work, changed my clothes and ran my customary five miles.
Later I joined a track club and started running sixty miles a week. I broke down when I got to eighty miles a week and had to slow down considerably. In any case I never found greater challenge than running half and full marathons as fast as I could. I loved the mind body conversations.
I have since enjoyed the mind body challenge in all my exercise. I have mountain biked, hiked, run, walked, aerobic machined, and now exercise at the beach. The mind frequently wants the body to stop and the mind that observes the mind has to decide who is right. That is the use of the seventh sense.
I especially use this battle in life’s challenges outside of exercise. Once again the mind often wants us to take the easier road with less risk. When I am going to be challenged by business or trying endeavor, I like to increase my exercise battle to build my mettle.
I also find great spirituality in my body’s ability perform. There are days when I feel the bars I have set need to be raised and I challenge my will and body to do it.
It’s a very fun game and hopefully you enjoy it as much as I do and if you don’t I challenge you to push your own envelope.
