Enzymes and Alkalinity for 100% New You!!

It almost all you need to know to have a super immune system and lose weight.
The body wants to operate in a alkaline balance. This ensures it can protect you against even common colds and then long term diseases of the heart and cancers. When the body has an acidic balance reverse everything above.
Raw foods produce an alkaline base. Everything else produces an acidic base.
When you have an alkaline base you are operating the way Mother Nature intended. You are at peak strength, stamina, alertness, and health. This leads to a spiritual connection because when your body feels great, you are stronger emotionally.
If you are strong emotionally you are inspired, creative, and spiritual.
When the body takes in processed foods it does not get enough nutrients. It then stores them all because it is afraid it will starve. Natural foods that come out of the ground have enzymes like lipase and protease. These two can break down fat and eliminate toxins.
When you cook food, you eliminate enzymes and the body has to scramble to complete its work. Two result of incomplete work are obesity and sickness.
A super food like coconut oil goes directly to the liver to produce energy and supports the thyroid to build metabolism. It does not circulate in the blood system and is not stored so it is used up.
Raw foods and super foods don’t get stores as fat and get used up to create energy and facilitate the body’s processes. When the body has healthy nutrients it starts releasing stored fat. I have blown off twenty pounds in five months without ever eating less.
Because my life style has changed, I will not have to worry about putting the weight back on. Raw foods will not make you gain weight.
If you were to concentrate on enzymes and alkalinity balance, you could be healthier than you ever dreamed.

Super Foods and the Power of Coconut

Coconut oil is one of three most valuable essential fatty acids that support the brain and other body functions.
It also creates instant energy because it goes straight to the liver and is not stored by the body, so it is used up.
I add it to my smoothies in the morning, my homemade salad dressing, and cook in it. You can also put it on your skin because of its moisture retention properties. Ever see a monkey that was not beautiful?
Here are some other pertinent facts:
- In the liver, these medium chain triglycerides (MCTs) support the immune system and help to cleanse the body of pathogens, toxins, etc.
- As the medium chain fatty acids in coconut oil travel throughout the body they are actually anti microbial compounds. For example, Lauric acid, which makes up about 50% of the coconut oil, becomes 2 mono-lauren. 2-mono-lauren dissolves the lipid envelope that protects most pathogenic bacteria and viruses. It also attacks pathogenic yeast and parasites
- Coconut oil, because it is smaller than the standard storage unit, is burned for energy rather than stored.
- This tends to increase the body’s metabolism.
- People with under-active thyroid glands often discover their basal temperature becomes normal from coconut oil use.
- Most people as they age, even though they are eating, do not feel they are getting energy from their food.
- The reason for many people is insulin resistance. The good news is that if a person has coconut oil or coconut products in their diet, the fats will be used as energy and that energy is not dependent on the insulin system working.
- Therefore, diabetics can get good energy into their cells without insulin and people who take naps, or think they need naps in the middle of the afternoon, have energy again.
- Low carb dieters, as well, can eat their low carbohydrate meals, but have the energy they would otherwise have received from carbohydrates.

When Peak Performance Becomes the Standard

Companies are squeaking the productivity out of every dollar.
Few things are sacred in the budget. The goal is clearly to increase profits by increasing efficiency at the same time of creating greater customer appeal and satisfaction.
The efficiency of processes, software, machinery, equipment, and humans are on the same matrix of measured productivity.
Why keep a human when software is more productive? Humans require management, benefits, vacations, and nurturing. They had better be much more productive than available alternatives.
The burden for humans is they have to be at the top of their game to hold an important job and better than others to advance.
How do humans improve their performance? They had better feel great and be able to develop focused energy. They have to maximize their utility. Humans are needed for innovation and creativity for streamlining processes, problem solving, and developing new revenue streams.
Tapping into a person’s deepest resources requires their body, mind and spirit be inspired to contribute to their tasks at hand. They have to see the importance of their work and their importance to the work.
People are no longer widgets. If they are not creating movement, alternatives can more inexpensively perform their tasks.

If You Want More Energy and Can’t Go Raw
Posted by: | CommentsSince I have been at the beach in May, I have now lost about 19 pounds. The greener I get the leaner I get.
I am continuously testing the stamina theory of whether it improves.
Two things help stamina as you go green:
- One is as you get lighter your oxygen uptake gets greater so you have oxygen longer.
- The greener nutrients give more energy to cells.
To the extent you can go super foods, it accelerates the program.
This list of foods from Web MD shows the great foods you can buy at the market.
http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/superfoods-everyone-needs
Then there are super super foods that can pack in the same nutrients as a few super foods. For example Chia Seed has more omega 3 than salmon and more anti oxidants than blue berries plus plus. So since it is hard to eat salmon frequently and pay for blue berries, its often better to get super food condensed.
Other great super foods are spirulina, chlorella, coconut water and oil, cacao, parsely, kale, dandelion quinoa, chia seed, and maca. Almost all raw organic nuts and seeds are super foods.
I have continuously eliminated more inferior foods as I have added better foods. I have eliminated corn chips and peanut butter as go to snacks. My giant salad at night is my main meal and my almost salad smoothies in the morning hold me to my tuna sandwich at lunch.
Today I did my new record 3 laps of the beach run (set a few workouts ago) and then went surfing which is a total new record and I feel fine. Something is working.
I have run across a great new company with a super green product of which I ordered a can. It will supplement some of the things I have not ordered yet and give me some super foods I cherish and can’t find.
Here is a list of the ingredients for your inspection. If you can’t go vegan or raw, start adding super foods and taking out the bad stuff. You’ll get lean and energetic.

Things That are Good for the Brain
Posted by: | Comments
- Image via Wikipedia
Very few of us earn a living from brawn any longer.
We need rational power, emotional power, creativity, and inspiration.
In any case, these are the powers that also give us the most enjoyment from life. We are social beings and being social is what gave rise, according to scientists, the limbic and neo cortex brains that set us apart from animals about 100,000 years ago. Beta and alpha waves power the left and right hemispheres of the neo cortex.
The brain has energy. The energy has waves powered by chemicals. The various hertz levels of the waves determine whether our brain is in overdrive, balanced, or in need of stimulus.
We tend to have a sense of how our brains are working and use consumption to alter the brain waves which changes our states of mind as we often call them. Beta waves are energized by Dopamine but the by product is adrenaline.
We enjoy coffee in the morning because the caffeine stimulates the Beta waves we need for rational and logical thinking and the feeling of being on top of our situation. We like alcohol often to slow down the over active Beta waves of stress so that we can get into a socializing state.
The alpha waves stimulate the right side of the brain that is most responsible for the external body stimulations and their interpretation by the brain. They mediate our conscious sensual experiences. They regulate the rate of sensory information coming at us.
Too much incoming unregulated stimulus can throw us into an “emotional” state. Death or betrayal are two stimulus we know that can take us out of the rational and into the emotional states, but there are many events in between.
The Beta wave state is like living in a vital active city and the Alpha wave state is like being in the beautiful countryside with the constant physical sensations of hearing birds singing, feeling the warm sunshine and the sounds of a babbling brook.
We enjoy chocolate because it has a soothing affect on the emotional limbic brain. Over eating also has a soothing affect of the limbic brain which is fueled by the Alpha waves. Marijuana also drops us into the settling alpha wave states where we revel in the sensual stimulus.
So manipulating these waves seems to be important to us. There are positive acts we can perform that stabilize the brain on a daily basis and eliminate some of the strong manipulations which frequently have bad and often long term side affects
Exercise both anaerobic and aerobic is critical to stabilize Beta waves. Even a half hour every other day will contribute. Foods that stimulate dopamine are broccoli, carrots, egg whites, salmon, pomegranate juice, spinach, and raw almonds. Teas can stimulate dopamine like green tea along with herbs spices and foods such as flax seed, garlic, and onion.
When dopamine is stimulated you are on top of the world and tend to be very social and in control. When dopamine is not positive, you tend to get involved in personal absorption with food, TV, hobbies, and so forth. Positive dopamine is socializing and negative is isolating.
Lack of alpha activity can create the inability to process our sensations. It can also lead to forgetfulness, difficulty with deadlines, inability to maintain a schedule, or having increased anxiety or stress.
When alpha waves are deficient, there is not enough mental speed to connect your thoughts and sensations together. Acetylcholine is the chemical that powers alpha waves. People who talk and think fast are demonstrating how acetylcholine works.
Exercise is also crucial for alpha support. Foods that support alpha wave balance are avocado, cucumber, zucchini, lettuce, nuts, milk products, eggs, luncheon meats, beef, olive oil and salad dressings. Yes a lot of fat based foods. They deliver a choline boost to our brains .
Water is of course a no brainer. Meditation is the practice of allowing our brains to synchronize. Giving the brains a rest by unplugging everything allows the waves to move into a balanced peaceful state.
Getting better brain balance is a good reason to fill our diet with supportive foods and therefore remove foods that are not helping us.

Diet is Not the Way to Leaner
Posted by: | CommentsI really don’t use the word diet in my descriptions of healthy eating because I don’t like the connotations. Diet connotes to most people suffering and short term program.
99% of people are not successful
The first goal should not be to lose ten pounds of weight by not eating certain foods for a few months and kicking up the aerobic exercise. This has failure written all over it.
We’re human and live under lots of stress. We have too much on our plates. Most people increase what’s on their plates by upping their communication activities.
Gaining weight is mostly the result of food being comforting. The limbic emotional brain actually gets happy with nice fatty foods. We eat big because we feel we deserve it; after all, look what we have to go through.
If you would like to look in the mirror and see 25% less of the beautiful you, your concept of eating has to progress from comfort eating to optimizing what your body needs.
Your mind tells you what your body wants, not needs. Your body wants you to eat like a bear, or gorilla, or elephant. These are all very strong and very healthy vegetarians although the bear will eat fish to get his omega 3’s and play in the water.
Exercise for most people who do it to lose weight is torture. You either love exercise or not and it is not necessary to get lean. Exercise is great and necessary for supporting brain function, helping you feel good, maintaining flexibility, and it does add to build your metabolism.
The body actually adds fat to insulate the organs from acidic and harmful foods. The more processed foods, bad fats, and meat you eat, the more insulation the body has to add to keep the ingredients from circulating in your system where they can damage and even kill you.
The more you eat like your forest friends who don’t have BarBQuess, the more fat the body can release just as a start. Eliminating foods is as important as what you add. You don’t ever need to starve.
Eliminating cooked and processed foods and adding foods that are grown in the ground will make you leaner. Cooked foods remove nutrients so your body is not satisfied. A salad is like an intravenous feeding.
But of course you are not “limbic” happy after a salad or fruit so you have to add. It’s what you add, that can make all the difference. Start by adding what ever you have to but start substituting cleaner.
Once you start eating cleaner you will never put the weight back on. You can choose whether or not to exercise. Exercise is great for everything but losing weight for most people. I am avid exerciser but it would never take off weight if I didn’t eat right.
If you are a dieter, you will exercise and then give yourself food rewards.
So, think eating healthier for a lifetime. Start slow. Pounds drop off fast when you hit the right notes. Since I have moved to the beach I have lost 15 pounds by eating cleaner and not thinking about dieting. The weight continues to fall off as I give my body super foods so that it no longer has cravings and allergies.

Eating Right is Not Counting Calories
Posted by: | CommentsIt is amazing when you see things clearly.
By my own devices I have narrowed my diet down to eating mostly raw foods with very little sugar, flour, bad fat, nor many foods that are processed or sold in boxes or cans.
I have lost weight each year, maintained it and gotten very lean. It has allowed me to feel great, look better, and avoid any type of sickness. My recent life insurance exam said I was great in every category.
Then I ran into someone who says it even better and provides more options. Isabel de los Rios has a diet guide that is actually more restrictive and more liberal than my own plan.
She doesn’t call it a diet, she calls it the Diet Solution and it is featured on this site.
She restricted a few things I used like sweet and low, I Can’t believe its not Butter, and my salad dressing. I know those are minor points, but everything that gives the liver relief creates more fat burning capacity.
Where she supercedes me is that she creates fat burning foods in every meal, a wider variety of foods, better proportions, unbelievable recipes and more food than I eat. She makes it so much more fun to eat healthy than what I do.
I stopped counting calories a long time ago. I have lost 30 pounds in 3 years and recently lost 10 pounds in the 5 months I have been at the beach but actually lost it in a few months from better eating and exercise. Now at 188 pounds, I am heading for my high school weight of 175 pounds when I participated in sports year around.
I can do the same now because I live at the beach and love to run and surf.
But severe eating and severe exercise are not necessary. The better you eat, the more lean your body becomes. Exercise is important to stay healthy in body and mind but only minimally necessary for losing weight.
That is because your body needs lots of energy to function and if you keep your digestion stoked with fat burning and lean foods it will tear the fat off as it seeks fuel for operating.
The most important life style organ is your brain. The right foods give the brain the supplements and energy it needs to be clear, alert and sharp. Because I am a writer, my brain function is a prime concern.
You could go my way which is, I have to admit, pretty severe and plain or you could go her way which is more clearly explained, more food, and more variety. Her recipes, which I am now using definitely have a nutritionist’s touch.
The ten minute video attached tells everything she recommends and how to start adding and eliminating today.
I make money from this process, but it is pretty minimal compared to what it could do for your life. I haven’t needed a doctor of any kind for 15 years, so that alone is worth expense money and down time.
I also anticipate I will not die or be disabled from heart disease or cancer. What’s that worth?
I want to exercise, feel good, look good, operate at my optimum, and live to raise grandchildren. What are your goals?
Omega’s, Cancer, Brain Health
Posted by: | CommentsAn article today in Natural Health tells about omega 3’s reducing the chances of colon cancer.
The story of the omegas is often not clarified.
They need to be consumed in the right proportion. The brain is 60% fat structure and omega 3 supports brain function. Too much Omega 6 is harmful. The ratio varies among experts but generally the ratio of 3 to 6 should be 3:1.
Fat is good for the body and the brain if it is the right kind of fat. Omega 6 is generally found in butters and oils used to cook food and especially fast food.
Omega 3’s can be found in the right proportion in fish and especially salmon. Chia Seed and Hemp are rich in the Omegas and in the right proportion. In fact, Chia Seeds give you the omegas in multiples of what you would find in Salmon and it is less expensive and easier to add to your diet.
Here is a link to the aforementioned article http://www.naturalnews.com/029207_omega_3s_colon_cancer.html
The banner at the top of the site can take you to a raw foods page which would explain the value of Chia and Hemp and the benefits contained by each. They are super foods which means they give you a greater concentration of the valuable elements than you would find in anyone food plus they include the valuable elements found in several good foods.
For example, Chia seeds have high protein, high omegas, high antioxidants, and high calcium. Plus they slow down the body’s absorption of carbohydrates which assists diabetics and dieters. No one food provides these types of benefits.
Food, Exercise, and the Brain
Posted by: | CommentsFood, Exercise, and the Brain A HealthSeries post 3
Nothing is more noticeable in an improvement routine than brain activity.
The brain influences the mind which of course creates our perspective. If the body or brain are not working at optimum, neither will our thinking. The mind and brain are terms often used interchangeably.
Out of 5 brain waves, the two you might control easiest are the Alpha and the Beta. The beta waves stimulate left brain activity which is logic, language, calculating. It is the “dominant brain-mind rhythm”- Patt Lind-Kyle, author of Heal Your Mind Rewire Your Brain. The chemical for optimizing Beta waves is Dopamine. “In balance, everything works perfectly with the right balance of dopamine.”
The best foods for dopamine are broccoli, carrots, egg whites, salmon, pomegranate juice, spinach, and unsalted almonds. Teas that boost dopamine are green tea, oolong tea, white tea, and rooibos tea. Spices herbs, and flavorful foods that will boost your metabolism, which dopamine monitors are flaxseed, garlic, green tea mustard seed, onion, stevia, and yarrow. Some supplements that boost beta brain energies are Ginko Biloba, B Complex, tyrosine, and phenylalanine.” Patt Lind-Kyle
If you want a quick shot supplement to activate Beta and Alpha waves, I take a supplement called Mind Power which I recommend for high and extended alertness.
Exercise helps bring Beta Waves in balance as well as hobbies. Having the mind concentrate on pleasing activities, like writing or assembling, balance out the spheres.
The Alpha stimulates the right brain activity which is Creativity and emotion. “The right brain processes and regulates the amount of sensory information coming at us”-Patt Lind-Kyle
The wonderful senses created by the alpha waves are stimulated by marijuana which may create the “oh wow” state of sensory perception.
“Acetylcholine is the apha brain wave partner. It helps keep the speed of your thoughts in motion as information is sent across the neurons. It juices the mind to be flexible, quick in movement, creative and innovative.” Pat Lind-Kyle
“Foods that replenish acetylcholine and help alpha brain waves stay in balance are: avocado, cucumber, zucchini, lettuce, nuts, eggs, luncheon meats, and olive oil salad dressings. Foods with fats deliver choline to boost our brain activity.” Patt Lind-Kyle.
We often stimulate right brain activity with coffee in the morning to speed up Beta waves and alcohol in the evening to slow them down. We try to manipulate our emotions lots of ways including nervous eating or binging.
The more we can provide healthy stimulus, the more the brain becomes our tool instead of vice versa.
Meditation is the greatest way to optimize brain waves, but few people are ready to plunge into this practice. People out of control are totally at the mercy of their brains like little puppets. If the brain is out of balance, strange, destructive, and even self destructive behavior will be result.
You can see that if you want an immediate impact on your life style from improving your food intake and exercise– your brain, your performance, and your quality of life will be major benefactors.
Some Super Foods I will introduce to you as we progress, multiply the impact of these basic important foods.

What Are Some Real Super Foods?
Posted by: | CommentsWhen the Best Super Foods Over Lap Pick One or Two
There are many opinions of which Super Foods rule.
I have followed them for years and Jonny Rumbeads book on the 150 Super Foods certainly ranks as a go to catalog for the widest variety.
But when experts are asked for the top 12 or 8 or 5, the competition gets tough.
Assuming you are not eating other super foods or taking other supplements the demand can vary. If you are a Vegan, it can change the criteria. If you are an athlete or trying to drastically lose weight, it can change the criteria. If you are trying for certain results like brain building capability, it could change the criteria.
So the first question to ask in analyzing Super Foods is what is your objective?
Super foods for Vegans are high in protein. Most super foods at the top of everyone’s list are high in anti-oxidants. Many feature fatty acids like the Omega’s.
When it gets down to vitamins supplied, the list could grow infinitely larger.
So in my list, I like to see immediate quality of life improvement with the brain function strongly supported, then energy, vitality, cleansing, and long term health not promoted by the ingesting of our normal daily diet.
Then if the Super Foods supply that which we don’t usually consume in our daily diets or supply them in an overwhelming amount that could hardly be equaled by other super foods, I give them extra points.
So let me pick a few super super foods and describe their qualities.
Chia Seeds
- High source of Omega’s, better than Fish Oil, Flax Seed and Salmon
- High in protein, 18 g per 100 grams of seed
- 5 times the calcium of milk
- Absorbs 14 times its weight in water so it is hydrating
- Rich in anti oxidant oils, more powerful than blueberries
- It slows conversion of carbohydrates so excellent for diabetics
- Muscle and tissue builder as well as hydrator
- Three to ten times as much oil as most grains
- Because it holds water weight and expands content of normal foods it is excellent for dieting.
Hemp Powder
- A rich source of bioavailable protein, Hemp Protein delivers a hefty 22g per 60g serving!
- Hemp contains all 10 essential amino acids, making it the only balanced, complete source of vegan protein.
- The essential fatty acids
- High in Vitamin E
Seeds from the hemp plant (cannabis sativa) are naturally loaded with nutritional value, boasting all of the essential amino acids and fatty acids the body needs.
It’s even a great source of Vitamin E, dietary fiber and important minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium and zinc. If you’re a flaxseed fan, you may want to buy hemp seeds as a mix-in–when it comes to the omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids that make flaxseed such a health food staple, the hemp seed is even more potent.
Chlorella
It is a true superfood, packed with nearly 10 times the healthy chlorophyll of similar greens like wheat grass, barley and alfalfa. Our chlorella powder is at least 60% crude protein and is also a complete protein, meaning it contains a full balance of essential amino acids. The nutritional benefits go on and on–taking a chlorella supplement will even boost your daily intake of:
- Iron
- Calcium
- Magnesium
- Potassium
- Vitamins A, B12, C and E
It is a natural detoxifier Chlorella algae is thought to bind with heavy metals, synthetic chemicals and other toxins, making them easy to expel from the body.
Cacao Beans
- Anti-oxidants – way more than any other food, and which are very powerful at healing the skin.
- Magnesium – more than any other food and which happens to be the number one mineral deficiency in the US.
- Chromium – again more than any other food and which also happens to be the number one trace mineral deficiency in the US
- Incredibly high levels of Vitamin C
Bee Pollen
Bee pollen is the pollen produced by flowers that honey bees gather and bring back to the hive. Pollen grains are microscopic in size and bees collect millions of these individual grains and connect them with nectar into small pellets.
Bee Pollen Superfood Nutrition:
Bee pollen is an alkaline food considered by nutritionists to be the most complete food found in nature. Bee pollen is a rich source of high-quality protein. Bee pollen contains all essential amino acids. Its high levels of protein and amino acids make it a great strength builder and brain food. Some of the amino acids present include: cystine, lysine, histidine, arginine, aspartic acid, threonine, glutamine, proline, glycine, alanine, valine, methionine, isoleucine, leucine, tyrosine, phenylalanine, and tryptophan.
Some of the minerals included in bee pollen include: barium, boron, calcium, copper, iodine, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, sodium, and zinc. Bee pollen contains vitamins A, B, C, and E. It is extraordinarily rich in most of the B vitamins, including folic acid (folate).
Bee pollen contains over 5,000 enzymes. The phytonutrients (such as co-enzymes, bioflavonoids, phytosterols, and carotenoids) found in bee pollen also number in the thousands. Bee pollen is 15% natural lecithin.
Some of the Benefits of Bee Pollen Consumption Include:
- Increases energy and stamina.
- Increase muscle growth and definition.
- Builds immune system.
- Has antioxidant activity.
- Enhances sexuality.
- Smoothes wrinkles.
Matcha Tea
The health benefits of matcha tea exceed those of green tea because when you drink matcha you ingest the whole leaf, not just the brewed water.
One glass of matcha is the equivalent of 10 glasses of green tea in terms of its nutritional value and antioxidant content.
For maximum nutritional benefit, matcha tea is unparalleled.
- Rich in Antioxidants and Chlorophyll
- Contains Catechins Only Found in Green Tea
- Naturally Mood Enhancing
- Zero on the Glycemic Index – will not raise insulin levels
- Sugar-free, High in Fiber
What else you need to know:
- According to research done by Tufts University, the ORAC capacity of matcha green tea is exponentially higher than other foods known for their high antioxidants levels such as blueberries and spinach.
- The ORAC rating of matcha is 1300 units/g, compared to 105 units/g for pomegranates and 91 units/g for wild blueberries.
- There are many types of antioxidants, however, the class known as catechins are only found in green tea, and these maybe the most potent of all. And of the catechins, EGCg (epicgallocatechin gallate) is the catechin with broadest and most potent cancer-fighting properties. Sixty percent of the catechin content of matcha tea is EGCg.
- Matcha contains L-theanine, an amino acid known to relax the mind. For this reason, matcha is also known as a mood enhancer. Buddhist monks drank matcha to assist in meditation, as matcha’s amino acids, combined with caffeine, offer a sustained calm alertness over time.
.
I have chosen three: Chia Seed, Chlorella, and Matcha Tea.
For a natural Viagra and energy booster, Peruvian Maca gets high grades.
You can Google for these special foods but two great places to investigate are:
