Eustress, the Good Stuff

“Eustress is a term that is sometimes referred to as Good Stress. Rather than being the root cause for discomfort or emotional stress, Eustress motivates people to continue moving forward and enjoy actions and events that require some effort but ultimately provide a great deal of satisfaction. The term appears to have originated with Hans Style, an endocrinologist who wrote about the affects of stress on the mind and the body.”
Just as there are many stressful situations that can lead to the development of depression, anxiety, and apathy, there are also types of Eustress that promote general emotional and physical well being. Physical exercise is an excellent example of this kind of good stress.
There are other examples of Eustress that many people encounter throughout their lives. All of them ultimately provide some degree of happiness and well being. Graduating from high school or college, the birth of children, and securing a highly desirable job are all events that come with some amount of stress, but ultimately provide a positive emotions that help people to find meaning and value in life.” From Wise Geek
I hold that the types of lives we lead from living in the box causes bad stress and living from inspiration causes good stress. When we choose the path that best expresses who we are, we are living up to our own expectations. When we live the lives others expect us to lead, we are living up to their expectations. In the box we usually set goals that once achieved will make us happy and then we can be proud of ourselves.
We start life in the box. Being raised by our parents, going to school, getting a job. These are all on the normal path. It comes with expectations because we are always living up to someone elses expectations, parents, teachers, bosses.
If along the way we connect with why we are here and that we are part of a much larger scheme and the best way to become part of it is to express appreciation and who we are, there is less bad stress and more good stress. The quicker we realize that we are not what we do and what we achieve, the less stress we will have with our identity and others’ expectations. We are here to be happy everyday. We are here to be happy because we are alive and perfect and just a player in a very big drama. We are here to live inspired everyday.
Living Motivation vs Inspiration

Motivation is goal oriented and is only realized when the goal is achieved. Others often judge us as by how we are doing on our path and we might feel the compunction to buy prestigious stuff so that it looks like we are doing well.
We often identify ourselves with our goals and our level of satisfaction and esteem can become identified with them as well. We might say I’ll be happy when I reach my goals.
Failure to achieve goals can result in our loss of self esteem and it may even result in the loss of status in the box (society). If achievement of the goals are expected of us in the box, it could mean the loss of our job or career, like coaching. Self esteem follows the plunge.
Inspiration is based on a feeling of what we have to do to express ourselves. We already feel connected and special just because we are here and we want an avenue to express our inspiration. We have high spirits. We are already special in our minds and we are not really concerned about what others think.
Because we are already secure in our identity, we buy what works for us.
We seek to express ourselves in our own endeavors or in a career that gives us more control of our destiny. You can pay a motivated person, but an inspired person is probably not good at something they don’t feel is them. Their principal goal is to enable the continuation of the expression. Obstacles may have to be surmounted because there is not always monetary remuneration at the start.
The goal is to let the expression go where it will to influence as many people as possible. If it goes nowhere we are no less our selves, we just have to find a different avenue of expression.
I’ll Have Some Gravity Lite Please
Posted by: | CommentsWe Rarely Consider How Connected we Are To Nature
Consider that gravity is so delicate it can keep and ant from floating into space but not so heavy that it can’t move and even carry 20 times its weight.
We spend a lot of time defying gravity.
We marvel that Dwight Stones could do the Fosberry Flop and jump higher than his head. On the moon that jump would have put him on Mars.
When a sprinter runs the 100m in 9.5 seconds it is the physics of his body exerting power that meets resistance and will allow him to only go so fast. Water poured from a glass crashes to the earth, but poured from a cloud it streams back to its source.
The wind is a mass held close to the earth by gravitational fields but with the right aerodynamics we can float above the earth and use the force of the wind to fly like a hawk.
Man tries to build a faster car that will have the power and aerodynamics to fight gravity better than other cars. Gravity keeps cars from getting better mileage.
Man has two legs to help him propel himself against the gravitational flow and carry on the activities necessary to live. A long gravitational fight finally allowed him to walk upright. Why do we lie down to sleep?
If you think you are not connected to Universal forces consider how gravity is part of your life.

Keep ‘em Happy and Get Some More
Posted by: | CommentsMost executives prefer taking care of existing orders and then getting new business is often a secondary desire. How they spend their time is the first indication.
The fact is, one system can take care of both. A system has component parts. Highly evolved service companies follow up each customer interaction with a survey of satisfaction. Another avenue is to keep in contact with existing customers providing information about new services and innovations and asking for referrals.
The same system can reach out to Prospects or Capture visitors to a web site and begin sending insightful information on how to improve their business with your type of services and offering all the information they need to make a wise decision.
A third component of the system is to blog or publish free insightful information on how to succeed with your type of services. The fact that you are an expert in this service is self serving, but you are providing free information.
One automatic system can take care of customers and prospects while you take care of business at hand.
